Google is intentionally throttling YouTube videos, slowing down users with ad blockers
  • Most likely, especially if it's not locked to one device. I know about their premium lite sub, but 8 dollars for "less" ads isn't going to do it for me.

  • There was a time where they only used banner ads. Or ads before the video and not in the middle. Honestly, if they had a cheap, no frills ad free sub, I'd pay for it.

  • It's about time
  • And on top of this, we have to ring up and bag our own stuff now. There's always a line because someone doesn't know how to use the machine.

  • So, is the USA screwed?
  • I really only lurk on Lemmy, but I felt the need to comment. Thank you for writing this. I've been stressed out since the EO was announced. • I'd seriously consider a sub that just removed ads if the price is fair. I don't give a shit about premium, red or whatever it's called.

  • Good luck!
  • I've heard that it was in the event you lost it, it would eventually disintegrate from the weather. It always to help prevent it from being used by others if found.

  • YouTube Says New 5-Second Video Load Delay Is Supposed to Punish Ad Blockers, Not Firefox Users
  • Doubtful. I'd rather see a black, silent screen for 30 seconds then an ad for some clone of a game.
