I'm saying biden inherited the post covid inflation. I think the world was reeling and inflation was un avoidable.

If we asked people if after the world wide covid shutdowns would they be surprised if there was a shortage on goods they would say, "no".

I bet if we asked people if there are people dieing in mass because of covid would that contribute to the shortage of goods, they would say, "yes."

I bet if we asked people if we are paying more to have something imported would the cost be transfered to the consumer they would say, "yes".

Given all these factors and accounting for greedflation it's actually amazing Biden would stabilize this equation. I'm sure some of the ripples caused by the shutdowns stopped contributing. I'm sure some of the markups needed to offset the tariffs are now in place. As far as labor shortages I think we are going to be dealing with that for a long time to come.

Overall though, they cranked the only lever they had to balance the equation, interest rates (really the only leverage the fed has) and waited for the train to stop. I could see it going very differently if we let someone else do the dirty work.

This is all just a laymen interpretation so feel free to pay it no mind.

Ok, but any discussion I may have with you won't be productive because your belief is US government will continue to operate, more or less, as it always has. If you were mildly informed you might not have that same belief. At the very least you should be arguing that the GOP is not capable of shifting the government from its current iteration to a right wing run authoritarian regime. Not this, democrats are the only alternative bullshit.

Ok, if it's just particles how does it distinguish the particles on a molecular level. This is important shit. The closest science can do is gas chromatography and that's an instrument which exists in any reputable lab. Also, using gas chromatography for this a far cry from the simple function of our sense of smell which can distinguish scents just by simply introducing a fragrence.

The GOP is straight up telling us they don't care about immigration, LGBT, abortion, etc. We lost this fight because it was a fight over the economy. This will always be a fight about the standard of living for working class people.

The GOP bring up these topics because they don't want the Dems to send messaging about actual economic policy. They want to keep them arguing about other topics people really don't care about or might edge out a win on their side. That way they can be 100% wrong on the economy and exact their real intent. The DNC leadership are 100% ok with this because THEY ALIGN on the issue. They will give some weak ass messaging about helping the middle class then be completely fine with their donors raking in cash hand over fist.

If the GOP cared about immigration why did they make the bill that would help stem the problem political?

If they cared about taking away LGBT rights why is gay marriage still legal?

If they are so opposed to abortion why is Trump out there not saying he will support an abortion ban?

The answer is they don't want you to see the elephant in the room which is the standard of living is falling and THEY PLAN on making it worse, if only to enrich themselves..

I love and hate this gif because it illistrates so clearly what the problem is but our entire political system cannot begin to address it. Trump can sit there and fellatiate a microphone because our norms say there is nothing wrong with it. Our politics say, that is one of the most egregious acts someone can display in a political setting and it will surely result in a loss of support. One of these two things is wrong.

The DNC cannot win. They are the space shuttle and we are wanting to go to mars.

Trump is to entertainment is what clown is to the circus. The DNC harbors some of the most talented actors of our time. Their refusal to tap that resource or maybe holloywoods refusal to get involved is obnoxious.

Brilliant strategy. I couldn't imagine how the poor neglected DNC with no influence or resources could ever stand up to that.
