  • There are quite a few sites that'll make you custom mugs. I've used Zazzle in the past and they were ok. Not especially good, not especially bad, just ok.

  • I quite agree. Don't do that. Because I tried it, and it doesn't work.

  • I wonder if somebody could animate it? It'd make a silly power-on animation for my Steam Deck.

  • Welcome once again :)

By the way, might wanna try your snoosite account again in a couple of days to make sure your account stays deleted.

  • I am not a lawyer. But, if you go down the route of following their instructions, I'd suggest you should follow their instructions completely, including deleting the account. Otherwise, they could claim further down the line that you failed to follow their instructions.

Also, you should probably tell them you've done it, preferably with a screenshot and timestamp, just so they know you're keeping records. ;)

  • I haven't noticed that so far.

Also, even if that were an issue, please forgive me but I'm not entirely convinced that the problem of people posting comments that are lacking in nuance could be solved with a tool that has no nuance.

  • I'd imagine DDG in particular will add !lemmy at some point to make it easier to google stuff there 🤷

  • Just a heads up, they're not doing this to everyone, I deleted my account once and it has stayed deleted. YMMV.

  • Hello from Lemmy! Glad to hear you made good use of the downtime ;)

I figure, if nobody posts anything, the community will die. So I posted something. :)

  • I'm guessing, at least partially, sunk cost fallacy.

  • *arxiv

arxiv.org allows anyone to submit scientific papers they've written. As such, the quality is mixed.

I haven't used SciHub, but as I understand it, SciHub focusses on making existing papers which were submitted elsewhere available for free.

  • Agreed. And by extension arxiv.org - just be aware the papers posted to arXiv are of variable quality.

  • I like being able to choose when and if I consume NSFW content. When I'm at work is not exactly ideal…

  • I think this might be my favourite so far. :)
