I haven't. I'm at 300 hours or so and actively avoiding completing the main story like I always do with Bethesda games. I'm aware of NG+, but don't know exactly what it is. I'm content to base build and dick around for now. There are a couple quest lines that are bugged so I'm waiting on patches to continue them. I have a couple of outposts that have the game crashing bug when you try to open your scanner, so I'm waiting on a patch to continue those. I'm at a point where the QOL issues and the mounting number of bugs directly affecting my play are going to see me putting SF on the back burner for a few months until some real patches are released to address all this stuff. Still dig the game and look forward to completing it when its improved and they support the work of modders better.
...in answer to what you were asking.. Tldr: I haven't completed the main quest. I personally don't care about spoilers.
I'm not currently using it daily because I don't have anyone I'm connected with that I'm not already connected with in other ways. I have gotten some friends and family to try it as a way of getting ahead of an emergency situation where communication might be spotty.
I wonder if Briar could be used in a geo-caching/scavenger hunt/walking tour type game, where Briar nodes are set up with Bluetooth broadcasting and players could physically travel to the locations to learn something about the area or pick up a 'flag' (like photos or something) and possibly even have a forum set up where players could leave selfies or their own photos. That would be a lot of fun.
I believe you're correct there. A smaller group could also connect via Bluetooth.
My understanding of the functionality, as far as a rural or remote community goes, is that everyone joins together in the app and as people create content via chat/forum/blog, the app connects and updates that information as people get close enough in proximity to connect individually with each other via wifi or Bluetooth. So if person A comes in from their farm and sits down at the cafe and they belong to a group(s) with person B who's already there, person B ends up sharing all the updated data in the app with person A who can then contribute their own information that anyone in the cafe that's connected will get and then be able to update those they come in contact with.
...at least I think that's how it works.
....as I'm thinking of it, they could do an early-ish mission that has the player connect the storage at the lodge to the storage on the ship. Later they could update that as they began building outposts.
Ffs, there could be some BS in-game, story reason that the player finds a piece of experimental tech that uses a type of the space-folding technology to link the storage containers...
editand to answer your actual question, I've seen some decent YouTube videos that talk about outpost building so you don't waste your time screwing up. Search beginner outpost starfield
You can connect storage containers for raw materials, why not for misc storage.
Alternately, there could be an "expensive to build" storage that connects all ships, and outposts together
Vivaldi tab management is pretty great. Vivaldi is designed for power users that always have a ton of tabs open. There are a bunch of other features as well that I use regularly, but I could see that it might be a bit of a learning curve for those that just want to install a browser and immediately know where everything is. There has been more than a few times that I discovered yet another efficiency using Vivaldi and felt like I was getting more from it. Definitely a browser for someone willing to spend time configuring it for their use case. Keyboard shortcuts ftw!
