Use excess Solar to run your pool pump (Node-Red & Home Assistant)
  • I gotta say... Your documentation is really good. You definitely have more experience with node red than myself so I am not sure how one would improve upon your work so far. Plus most of my improvements would probably be a little advanced for the aim of your project as I tend to go down a rabbit hole whenever I automate something lol.

Mostly, my two cents are for if you want to go further towards a smart pump and getting more data into home assistant:

    • Look for a way to track the flow of water through the pump to watch for signs of blockage or pump failure.
    • Look at what options would you have for water quality sampling/intervention (if you do any maintenance for that).
  • It's time to start planning this years addition. Ideas?
  • The trouble with going too big is that you may run out of room to store it but what if you make elves or penguins of each of your family members and everyone can decorate their own? That way it is personal and you can add onto it by giving them a village of sorts with buildings and other items as the years go on? As your children grow they can even participate in larger add-ons to the village.

  • Joining from the trenches of home automation on Spezdit

Hey everyone, I just wanted to make a quick post to say hi and inspire other lurkers to join in on the communities they love.

I come from Home Assistant and Home Automation on Reddit and figured my low post count on those communities wouldn't help grow these communities unless I get my hands dirty and participate where I can.

Anyways I am happy to be here and I guess I'll end off with asking what everyone else is using for their home automatons?
