Hi, thank you for writing. I hope so. I use proton.me too, and at first I thought the same thing. I really hope you are right and I am wrong, because I like the answers. But on the official website, the subdomain support@protonme.zendesk.com is not on the list. Its all about that. But I hope you are right.

Hey, it was a long chat. This picture is just an example.

The answers were actually really good and made for perfect sense. They told me, "No, we don't use Google or Bing." Sometimes the replies were very short and simple, like: "No, we don't use them either."

Regarding the links, they were always formatted like this: Proton Mail (link to proton.me/mail/home) From: support@protonme.zendesk.com

But I didn't click on them.

I would be really sad if this turned out to be a fake email because I actually liked the answers. I love Mojeek. But this "me" vs. "mail" thing makes me really worry. I hope I'm wrong. Now I can just wait for Protons answer.

I know that. The real subdomain according to Proton is: support@protonmail.zendesk.com.

But the email they sent to me was with 'protonme' instead of 'protonmail'. I'm confused because of that.

Honestly, I'm super confused. Because actually phishing is when they ask about your password and all that classic stuff. But no! I had a normal chat. I saw links, and thank God I didn't click them. But the biggest warning sign is the domain. I can't find this domain on the official Proton website: https://proton.me/blog/report-phishing-emails

My mail says: support@proton*me.zendesk.com*
but it should say: support@proton*mail.zendesk.com.*

According to Proton: "if an email claiming to be from us does not have this badge, then it is a phishing attack." So this must be a phishing attack.

I contacted Proton about four days ago, but they still haven't answered. So I think I'll try my luck here.

Peace be with you 🌹 I know, and dont worry, this time I typing without AI.😁 The Things is "to undestand" is easy for me, but speaking an writing?.... There a lot of problems, like the past and present rules. When I translated a word exactly how its use on german, its sound weird in english. So I use the AI, to help me, and so you can better undestand me. But believe it or not, this english , is my "good" english😂😂. Couple years ago , it was much worser, but i starting to watch Supernatural on English with german subtitels. That helps me a lot. And i swear by God, this time I dont use an AI. So what you think? Is my english bad or not?😁.

Thank you for getting back to me. 🌹 I truly believe that many people feel this way. Tragic things happen in life. Believe me, I speak from experience too. Sometimes we walk a certain path, and something terrible happens to us. We wonder, 'Why did this happen?' But we'll never know what would have happened if we had chosen the other path. Perhaps something terrible had to occur to protect us from something even worse. I know this might sound like making excuses sometimes, but I genuinely believe this. And there have been small incidents where I felt this was confirmed.

The fact that you believe God would not love you is, to me, a sign that you still believe in Him😊 and that is something good. Whatever you have experienced in life, or whatever you are going through right now, I wish you strength and all the best. I hope that soon everything will turn around for the better. I come from Germany, and at my school, we had English and Turkish. Since you're about to start learning German, I'll give you a little heads-up. Watch out for: „der, die, das"! 😂😂😂 Even real Germans sometimes struggle with getting it right!

The USA has just on article „THE" but Germany has three. The positiv thing : Many words in German sound exactly the same like "Hello = Hallo" so that makes things a bit easier.

Peace be with you. 🌹So, I've been doing without Google for over a year now and use Mojeek. It takes some getting used to, and isn't as good as well-known search engines, but it's 100% free from Google and Bing. It has is own crawler and index.

Peace be upon you. To your question: Yes and no. I find it harmless, almost even creative, when beautiful music mixes are made, or when one of my favorite actors says something funny. But at the same time, it's very dangerous. And by the way, this is a threat to all voice actors and dubbing professionals. I come from Germany, where dubbing is really important. In any case, it has pros and cons. It depends on who uses it. Actually I don't blame the AI itself, but rather the people who misuse it.

Peace be with you. You are absolutely right. In my early days of exploring "privacy," I signed up for Reddit because I thought it was independent, but I was truly wrong. Google and Reddit actually have a deal that lets Google train its AI on user posts. It's wild that Reddit would allow that. I deleted my account immediately. But, im really happy to find a plattform like lemmy.

For me, data privacy is just about being practical and ethical. I hate it when big corps like Google use my data for things I can't control, like military projects. It makes me angry, when they turn a tiny mosquito into a weapon. I see that happening with AI too. I'm against that.

I don't know if that makes me 'left' or 'liberal'😅. My goal on forums like Lemmy is simply to find like-minded people, who share this ethical approach and to make friends there😊. Thats it.
