@GeekFTW the way he talked about it makes me think that he suspects TNA was losing money. Maybe that has been the state of things for a while and what they wanted out of TNA was to start being profitable or cut costs. But if D'Amore was asking for money and to increase budget, that's just not a guy who will do the cost cutting that they need. Theory: they let D'Amore try to increase revenue but his time was up and now it's time to contain costs.
@GeekFTW yeah, that sounds real possible. I can only imagine how intimidating organizing a strike would be so I don't blame folks for not wanting to. Especially if you're employed in a highly competitive industry for the third largest promotion.
@TellumSiege I will remind us that no one suspected the Netflix deal. I think WWE is choosing what they tell us right now.
Also the way I square the conflicting reports is that Meltzer reflects the plans among TKO leadership and SRS reflects reports from WWE creative down. Different parties knew different things.
@GeekFTW he's right. Despite all the goodwill in the world I may want to impart to the rest of WWE who were also under McMahon's thumb for their entire existence, the response to this situation and all the others we don't know about needs to be handled. For the good guys in the company, you have to throw off the habit of covering things up and show radical transparency and improvement.
@GeekFTW I don't understand the appeal of Shotzi. Idk, I don't vibe with her performances.
