Who knows when “the right time” is for this type of departure? Maybe it’s been in the works for months and going now gives us the chance to prepare well for the summer transfer window? Better than him taking off at the end of the season, probably. Still a bit disappointing that he’s left before the job is done. Money talks but I’m sure he wasn’t eating cup noodle and beans.
Arseblog reporting that Edu might leave the club
It used to be that a disappointing performance by the men could be ameliorated by a good one from the women. The performance was actually quite good, the result again no good.
11:30pm kickoff for me. Decided not to stay up late which was a wise decision. Although, I probably would have snoozed off well before the end of the match.
My aspiration that we would hang in there at least until the next international break doesn’t look good but we can still have a turnaround before Christmas and thereafter, especially getting Ødegaard back soon. 🤞
I’m trying to exist inside a healthy space between these two Alexander Pope quotations:
Hope springs eternal in the human breast/the hearts of Arsenal supporters
Blessed is the man/Arsenal supporter who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed
He’s not the Messiah, (but) he’s a very talented boy.
The Grate Cheese Robbery (2026), starring Edam Driver, Emmental Watson, Chedward Norton, Tilda Stilton, Brie Larson, Goudafrey Rush, Nicolby Kidman and Dwayne "The Roquefort" Johnson. With a special appearance by Robert Paneero. Directed by Feta Gerwig.
Drunk Mums have been around for a while. I believe they started as a band in Brisbane, but like so many others, they have ended up based in Mebourne. I first stumbled onto them maybe 10 years ago. I took some overseas visitors out on a school night and we ended up at a rock venue called Cherry Bar, on AC/DC Lane. DMs were on one of their visits from Brisbane.
Purely by chance, today I cycled down the very street that they are seen riding the e-scooters in this video.

This band has a great sound. Admirers of stuff like Mazzy Star might find this up their alley.

I had a listen and they definitely float my boat!

He has his acting career to fall back on.
I think I’ll slightly miss Ten Hag.
I just watched that disallowed goal again. What a joke.
Yes. The other thing I picked up this week was that Arteta never once used injuries as a pre-emptive excuse. e.g in the pre-match presser:
on if he feels hard done by to have so many injuries:
This is the game, you know, obviously, we didn't want to be in that situation, but we are really lucky as well to have the squad that we have, to have the players that we have, to have the attitude that we have. When it comes down to reacting against a difficult situation and don't feel sorry for ourselves, face it. We are a team that we know how good we are as well and how difficult we can be for the opponent. And having that ruthless mentality in the team is something that I love.
Yet am I sure I noticed the usual idiots telling us off for complaining about injuries. That's why I don't give 2 tugs what non-Arsenal journos or pundits say. They relentlessly pursue a pre-determined agenda, no matter what.
I agree with your comment, apart from the first sentence. My take is that it was pretty even and if anything we had better quality periods of control. Neither of our goals were flukes or too against the run of play. I’d say that a team that’s goes ahead twice is mostly more deserving of taking all the points. We were pushing to add a third but got caught on the break with a below par defence. In addition, the stats were pretty even.

What do you really think, Amy?
I can't wait for the forthcoming movie, The Grate Cheese Robbery, starring Chedward Norton, Tilda Stilton, Brie Larson, Goudafrey Rush, and Dwayne "The Roquefort" Johnson. With a special appearance by Robert Paneero.
Another Canberra formed band that seems to now be based in Melbourne.
- This was from their first album. The video depicts life as a touring, indie band in Australia
- They have a new album out in November. You can find some of the already released songs on their channel/streaming.
- Not a name I would have chosen for my band!
I just discovered this band that hails from Canberra, Australia's capital. It seems that some of them are based in Melbourne, which is where this video was shot. IMO, this is the most alluring of their tracks that I can find. The chime of the guitars and the effervescent vocal delivery /lyrics, do it for me.
I'm only just catching up with this 2022 album.
This one makes me want to shotgun a Pilsner and hug all my buddies.

My classic, cassette mix tape playlist tracks series, part 3.
There are many bands who have been called Peachfuzz. Maybe the most niche of them is this indie rock band from Melbourne, Australia. I received this CD to review for a fanzine that I was part of, at the time. I like this track.
I have an even more obscure Melbourne band called Hurdy Gurdy on my playlist, that I would love to post, but they are so obscure, no one has put their stuff on Youtube!

Another one from one of my classic mix tape recreation playlists.
Connoisseurs of Dinosaur Jr. may find this to be a sacrilegious cover of the track from the debut DJ album, but the BB version is quite faithful to the 1985 original, plus objectively, Juliana has a better singing voice than J! I like this version, a lot.
A song that just popped up on a playlist I have that recreates one of my classic mix tapes.

Another new discovery for me. This band is from Rouen in France. Have been listening, today, to their new album that just came out. This is the lead track. A pretty good racket, don't you think?
A Sydney band who I have listened to a little bit before, but not extensively. This track from July, recently popped up in my suggestions. It's nice.
I am liking the sound of Stockholm's Girl Scout. A little bit like Sprints, perhaps. Here's another of their recent tracks that is a bit more jangly. Would go to one of their gigs if they played near me.
