Nominative determinism!
Premier League winner Cesc Fàbregas and former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha join Mark Chapman to talk about Cristiano Ronaldo’s longevity, after he reached 900 career goals. Plus, should managers put more faith in their younger players? This comes amidst Arsenal’s injury crisis, and rumours...
Arsenal had a late record bid rejected for Keira Walsh by Barcelona, with the WSL transfer window closing at 11pm last night. The Gunners have held a long-term interest in the player which started last summer, but, at that stage, Barcelona would not countenance a move for the player they broke the w...

Youtube link, because Invidious is a bit flaky right now.
The album came out a year ago, but even though they are from the city I live in (Melbourne), I just discovered them today. I like the sound of this track and have queued the rest of the album to have a listen to.
Here's what a review I read said about them:
>Frankston's The Belair Lip Bombs deliver their genuinely unique brand of left-field indie rock with complete poise. > >At one moment you'll hear shades of Interpol and The Smiths, at others they hint at PJ Harvey and Best Coast. Ultimately, the band's infectious take on a well-traversed genre is their own. > >They will have truly cross-generational appeal, giving their younger peers the kind of guitar-driven indie rock many of them crave, and offering older fans something fresh that still taps into something a little nostalgic. > >They're honestly a band too difficult to describe, but one that indie rock fans must be across. They've already signed to Jack White's Third Man Records, so now is the time to get on board.
Cross everything you have that Arteta Jedi mind tricks on Carsley are effective. Zero minutes for Bukayo, please.

On this bonus edition of the ArsenalVision Podcast, Elliot is joined by Clive Palmer and Dr. Clive Nwonka, author of the new book "Black Arsenal," celebrating Arsenal’s connection with Black British identity and culture. The group discusses the inspiration for the book, some of the stories
I just got around to listening to this. I like it. Thanks!
I still have a few music mags from the 1990s on my shelf.
Juice (Australia), Lime Lizard (UK), Vox (UK), Rolling Stone (Australia), Puncture (USA)
What music magazines did/do you buy?
Alt text for image:
This image shows a collection of 1990s alternative music and culture magazines spread out on a wooden surface. The magazines include multiple issues of "Lime Lizard," "Vox," "Juice," and others like "Puncture" and "Rolling Stone." The covers feature various musicians and bands popular in the alternative and grunge scenes of the era, with bold typography and striking portrait photography. The overall aesthetic is very characteristic of 90s rock and alternative culture, with a mix of colorful and monochrome designs. This collection provides a nostalgic glimpse into the music journalism and visual style of that period. Michael Hutchence (INXS), Nick Cave, Harriet Wheeler (The Sundays), Hole, Lush, Whitney Houston, Carter USM, The Shamen, Kristin Hersh and Angie Hart (Frente!).
I am still seething about Kavanagh
Holy crap. You are not wrong when you say it's graphic, OP. I just had a listen to a couple of Hana Vu tracks and have put her latest album in my listen queue.
I have just stumbled across this band.

I just found out that the band have reformed.
This song got played a heap on the office stereo where I worked, at the time.
Catchy tune from this Sydney band!
I saw JH and her band when she toured the album Only Everything. Arguably, when she at the height of her powers. Good TV performance of Universal Heart-Beat, this.
From the debut album The Troubles And Trevails Of Orphan Mae.
A while back, I posted a song from The Spinanes’ debut, 1993 album.
Kid In Candy is the lead track from their third and final album from 1998. I like it.
Took me a little bit to get used to the idea. If he is fit and remains fit 🤞, the financial details are right, and he comes with a point to prove, I’m down with it. Particularly if we can give B some rest and also present some different attacking options.
I read this article that talks about how Pochettino combined him with RB/RWB, to good effect against ‘pool. Seems cromulent.
Reiss Nelson has joined Fulham on loan for the 2024/25 season
Yes, @MHPengwingz@lemmy.world has it!
I read a piece recently that made a good case for Eddie being one of the most successful Academy graduates that Arsenal has produced. Which makes sense, if you think about it.
Good luck Dide.
Edit - Here is the article
“I’m realising a dream in my life, a dream come true, and I’m really, really happy.
I had two dreams as a kid to play for a football team. It was my team in Brazil, where I grew up and became a professional footballer, and also Arsenal. And now I’m realising it! I’m a really lucky person.
To all the supporters of Arsenal, I’d just like to say I’m one more fan here. My dream has come true, I’m really happy. Depend on me, I’ll give more than 100% to give everything for Arsenal.”
Quick Quiz. Sterling will be the second player to have played in PL for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. Who is the other?

As I said in the daily thread. “You have got to be shitting me” 🤦🏻♂️
Mikel Arteta provides fitness updates on Mikel Merino, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu
You have got to be shitting me!
🚨🔴⚪️ Bad news for Arsenal as Mikel Merino is injured.
“He has a shoulder injury and it looks like he will be out for a few weeks”.
“He landed on the floor and Gabi landed on top of him, it's a fracture probably”, Arteta says
