Uber and Lyft now required to pay Massachusetts rideshare drivers $32 an hour
  • As someone who did uber and lyft, let me tell you that these algorithm are exceptionally fine tuned to meet $/hr over long term driving. In my area, it is tuned to hit close to 20/hr ± 4 dollars/hr. You bet that on some trips uber is taking larger percentage vs other trips to meet this target. This is clearly how their system works to squeeze every dollar out of both drivers and clients.

Note: this is with OR without doing promotions and specials.

Those algorithms will try their best to get you out of profitable areas and stick you with low pay rides once you pass this 20/hr threshold. Especially if you are doing promotions, as they know that you will more than likely meet this target $/hr mark.

  • Plasma 6.1 is here!
  • Well I think it was pretty toxic how people hit you with downvotes but reflecting on it, your comment was not meant for this thread.

I do believe with a bit more info and some images, your post can be a completely new thread. I don't know what fill tiling is or whatever that scripted WM could mean. I like your counterargument against DEs that focus on the dual interaction of mouse and keyboard that emphasizes the cursor control(inclusive of tablets and touchscreens)

I firmly believe Linux currently is much more powerful than the other major OSes is due to the fact that it can be heavily automated. So if you do end up making a thread on your DE, let me know

  • Just one more lane
  • If the highway increases in size, then more off ramps or more lanes in the off ramps are needed, which in turn need more lanes on the main street that connect to the off ramps. It's basic filtration system dynamics.

  • me_irl
  • Why are so many people adamant on seeing someone being "enthusiastic" and "high-energy"? Don't they realize how exhausting it is to maintain that for more than an hour?

  • Life doesnt have to be this way
  • Automate, but maje sure you take ownership of the production and get paid accordingly. Your tip is usually the best way to accomplish it.

unless you can spin it into a business to business service that you can sell after leaving the company to many more and paid more than your job's salary.

  • Why the Swedes love doing something that Americans hate
  • I was genuinely surprised when I saw Americans online arguing over the topic of free food in schools, i always hear the mantra "love thy neighbour" in media and such, but some are genuinely upset that someone less fortunate may get to eat at school.

Is called hypocrisy, and it's prevalent the more sociopathic a person is. Which is quite more common to see in the internet from the detachment/ lack of personal connection.

  • Don't care what the reason is.
  • There are literally laws that say you can donate with no liability. It's a common misconception that is too pervasive even in those who are in charge.

In fact, the ones who do realize they can do it with no liability have calculated the costs of throwing away(trash removal is subsidized) vs creating an entirely new process for donating food and worry about its handling(vs. The very lax and rough handling trash gets). Not to mention that they will have to move it to a separate location as it can bring unwanted traffic that is not profitable.

Donating is not an easy task. It's a burden, and there isn't a public service to make it easier and similar in cost to trash removal services. It's not the company's fault. It's the government and charities that are not getting involved.
