Infinity for Lemmy
  • I like it. But Infimmity makes me giggle a bit more.

  • Cornershop - Brimful Of Asha, Norman Cook Mix (1998)
  • I have no idea what he's saying, but I feel like I can relate to that man.

  • Sonic Youth - The Diamond Sea
  • Okay, look, imma give you an upvote, but get out with the single edit. πŸ˜†

    Album version (19:38)

    Alternate version (25:51)

I love this song so much though. The way the album version just completely deteriorates into noise but STILL remains beautiful just ... mmm 😘🀌

  • Rancid - Salvation (1994)
  • Matt's songs are always a highlight. Black Derby Jacket is one of my favorites.

  • Self hosting a Lemmy instance for just myself?
  • I took the easy way out for Mastodon with a managed host because I wanted to open it up to toher folks. But I did self host it for a bit and it was fine. Pleroma was a bit more to my liking, but Mastodon won out.

A couple of weeks ago, I did set up my Lemmy instance on a single core, 1GB RAM, 10GB HDD VPS. I'm not subscribed to a ton of communities and haven't bothered with the different seeding scripts. So far so good though! I'm really happy with it.

  • DIY radio show featuring unsigned and DIY labeled artists.
  • I got lucky to have a film student doing work study for a while, but aside from the handful he did, all other video is really from the guests themselves. But the show audio is posted online each week if you ever want to check it out - https://www.wmpg.org/show/wed1930/

Looking forward to digging into your show!

  • DIY radio show featuring unsigned and DIY labeled artists.
  • Yeah. Here's a bit of a set, I'm the awkward guy talking at the beginning.

  • DIY radio show featuring unsigned and DIY labeled artists.
  • Thankfully, the show existed long before me and the station is committed to keeping it on air.

  • Nostalgia isn’t real?
  • An all-time classic album, IMO. Always happy to see people mention Rancid.

  • Rancid - Salvation (1994)

I swear to God, I thought to post this before I saw the post about ...and Out Come the Wolves! I only saw that when I searched "Rancid". πŸ˜„

Rancid are one of my favorite bands. While Wolves is definitely their masterpiece, this was the song that introduced them to a lot of us.

  • Oh dang! For years, I hosted a local music radio show. Usually having the artists in to perform live, but sometimes just playing recordings. I've had to step away some in the last few years for my own sanity.

We have a lot of great music up here in Maine and I'm always interested in hearing what is happening elsewhere. Will definitely check this out.

  • Clouds - Phoenician Club, Sydney December 1991
  • This Penny Century album is so good.

  • Clouds - Phoenician Club, Sydney December 1991
  • Never heard of them before, but definitely digging into them today. This is great.

You all in this community have good taste in music. Thanks!

  • Belly - Feed the Tree (1993)

1993... the year I fell in love with Tanya Donelly. We've been together ever since, she just doesn't know about it.

[Question Of The Day] What are some of your WORSE [#misheardlyrics](https://mstdn.social/tags/misheardlyrics) ?
  • Even though I know it's wrong, I think my version of the lyric is a really good lyric. πŸ˜†

  • The Rentals - Friends Of P.
  • This is one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. It's SO good.

  • California Games: A port comparison
  • Well, it was the pack-in title at launch. It was years before I realized it was missing a couple of games!

  • [Question Of The Day] What are some of your WORSE [#misheardlyrics](https://mstdn.social/tags/misheardlyrics) ?
  • I always thought that the chorus to "Feed the World" was just

    Peeeeeople, whoooooooaaa oooooohhhh

rather than, you know, the TITLE OF THE SONG. Well into my adult years.

And this one isn't bad, especially given that it's Michael Stipe, but...

It was only this year that I discovered the lyric in "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" is

You said that irony was the shackles of youth

    and not

You said all I needed was the shackles of you

  • [Deep Cut] The Visigoths - Was it Something I Said (1990)
  • I'm at a stage where I want new-to-me music, but not necessarily current music. I've been diving into lesser known songs and artists from the hair band and grunge days. Tons of good things I've never heard.

  • They're a band whose work might not always click with me, but it's always worth hearing because you know they are truly doing whatever the hell they want.

I wonder if I still have that 24 hour song around somewhere...

  • [Deep Cut] The Visigoths - Was it Something I Said (1990)

I found this CD digging through stacks of random early 90s albums a couple years ago. This is the first track. As far as I can tell, I think this is their only full CD, with a few vinyl EPs before it. They were a Boston-area band and ... that's really about all I know. But it's a great tune.

  • I think I've technically seen them 3 times, but once was as Beck's band. First time for me though, they were opening for Candlebox right around the time She Don't Use Jelly hit. MUCH different than Wayne in a bubble shows.

  • Barenaked Ladies - This is Where it Ends

Just to compliment The Sundays post over there. πŸ˜€
