The "Jaredites" were an imaginary people from Mesopotamia who left after the collapse of the tower of Babel in sealed boats and ended up in the good ol US of A.

Man the "miracles" he "performed" to get beatified are so fucking thin its ridiculous even for the church. Some kids were supposedly cured of disease after their moms prayed to him. Like...thats it. Edit: for everyone saying this is possible natty... maybe if he has incredible genetics. He is young and was untrained so some rapid progress could be expected. But:

1. That does not look like an 85kg teenager to me unless he's pretty tall. But let's assume he is 85kg at the start - must be at least 1.85m tall.
2. Estimated ~25% body fat, around 64kg lean mass -> estimated ~10% body fat @ ~99kg lean mass. A gain of 35kg in 3-4 years. 77lbs for my Americans.
3. That would require a lean mass gain of 8.75kg-11.66kg (20.4lbs-27.18lbs) on average per year to achieve. Most beginners can expect as much as 9kg of mass gain in their first year, but that leaves 2-3 years at 8.66kg-13kg of lean mass gain per year.
4. Possible muscle growth rates (naturally) for humans range from ~.25kg - ~.9kg (.5lbs-2lbs) per month but slow with progression - you can't expect to max out that same rate forever.
5. 35kg in 3-4 years means .73kg -.97kg/month on average.
6. So, sure, maybe it's possible if this guy has elite genetics and bulked for 3-4 years straight and did the worlds fastest cut right before that after photo was taken.... or he got some hormonal assistance and put in the work too. Which is nbd, but it is very doubtful this is natty.

Edit edit: using the Casey Butt Calculator, max lean mass at 185cm is 93kg possible/88kg realistic using wrist/ankle sizes a bit above average (18cm, 24cm). Using massive size wrist and ankle (25cm wrist and 30cm ankle) the max is like 106kg possible/101kg realistic- so if this kid has a huge frame, then maybe he's natty - and he achieved his lifetime natural maximum in 3-4 years after starting lifting as a totally untrained gamer kid.

That was my first reaction. Using LLMs is a lot like being a manager. You have to describe goals/tasks and delegate them, while usually not doing any of the tasks yourself.

People sometimes use other acronyms as a way to deride the IDF. Usually pointing out how cynical and ironic it is to call them a "defense" force. Here IOF is meant to stand for Israeli Occupation Force, I think.

2. the pronunciation of g before a vowel is not always hard. Giraffe. Gin.
3. the pronunciation of the individual words in an acronym don't define its pronunciation. NASA - Aeronautic, Association - do you pronounce it NÆSÂ? ASAP - do you say ÂSÂP or AySAP?

This is one thing I think about with AI and technological progress. Optimists say that technological advancement could free people up for more creative work, fund UBI, etc.

I think that without a serious overhaul of the legal and societal frameworks of Western countries, jobs that only people can do well or are too costly to automate could become the only way to earn a living for most people.

They aren't saying anything, but here's the context. The UK criminalized pro-Palestinian slogans in public a pro-Palestinian rights group called Palestine Action. They use several slogans, most notably the "Support Palestine Action" slogan. They recently arrested a bunch of people for peacefully protesting with this group.

This guy has a shirt that says "Support Plasticene Action" which, notably, does not reference Palestine at all though the words have an aesthetic similarity to the Palestine slogan. So the pigs are trying to see if they can arrest him for hate speech fucking terrorism (wow) or not.

5 point scales are dumb because there's too much ambiguity with 2s and 4s. Since everyone has an inconsistent definition of what those mean, they don't really mean anything. Knowing that intuitively, people spam 5s and 1s because those are unambiguous.

3 or even 2 point scales are better. Dislike, Neutral, Like / would not recommend, would maybe recommend, would always recommend or just removing the middle option to push people off the fence.

What I like most about Lemmy is not feeling like I'm being exploited. It's pretty refreshing being a part of what is essentially a voluntary organization without any corporate interests trying to milk users for profit.
