Not quite the announced exodus. Time will tell, but so far, twitter, reddit and the slowness of mastodon have been really helpful in making me reduce my usage of social media.
Perth is tiny enough, splintering off /r/perth probably isn't gonna help the cause much.
Given 2 Million people live here, /r/Perth was always tiny.
It's a dry alternative?
Pretty small party so far.
There are usually more lurkers than active users, so makes sense!
So you actually got a cryptopunk or what?
You are correct. Nope, a more affordable Solpunk! 😉

Hello.
Different, but same?
I'm really disappointed by the inactiveness. I know small communities that are very active outside of Lemmy so the number of users is a bad excuse. I will there was as much promotion for lemmy as Mastodon had
The average r/Perth user doesn't strike me as cutting edge tech enthusiast. It'll take a while for those types to warm up to lemmy. The real push might start happening after the API lock down.
I think Perth just sucks for community in general, especially more tech focused things like a federated Reddit clone
Yeah, even r/perth was always a bit sleepy. I could easily go on every few days and see a lot of the same stuff.
I's thinking of maybe putting some sort of reference material post together for people who maybe want to post a bit more but aren't really sure what to post... but then i cracked a beer.
There are dozens of us!
Almost a baker's dozen.
