2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards Winners Annouced
Since 2017, this global event has annually recognized anime’s finest series and films. During our voting period, you can vote here once per day in a variety of categories. Ultimately, Grand Winners are announced in-person at the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards show on March 4, 2023.
Anime of the year: Jujutsu Kaisen
Best fantasy: Demon Slayer
Best art direction: Demon Slayer
Best opening sequence: Jujutsu Kaisen
Best ending sequence: Jujutsu Kaisen
Once again, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer win multiple awards they don’t deserve.
Best Slice of Life: Bocchi the Rock
Best Comedy: Spy x Family
These make no sense to me. Bocci the Rock should have won best comedy and best slice of life should have gone to Skip and Loafer.
Best Romance: Horimiya the Missing Pieces
Season one of Horimiya was great but this season was just things part s1 skipped. There is no world in which deserves best romance. It should have gone to Insomniacs After School.
These awards are such a joke.
I agree, I absolutely love Horimiya season one, but Missing Pieces was far from the best romance last year (if it should even count as a romance). I didn't watch Insomniacs or Skip and Loafer, but Tomo-chan was better than the side stories of Horimiya for sure.
There are lots of these that I don't necessarily agree with, but one thing that they got right is Idol winning Best Anime Song considering how much that song swept the globe. I remember multiple instances of hearing Idol playing when I was at a coffee shop or similar establishment here in the US. That has never happened before with any anime song in my memory.
