Wifi working with hotspot but not with router (+ NVDIA error message during install)

I'm a complete beginner and I'm considering switching to pop os on my laptop (currently running windows 11) 

I'm in demo mode and so I can check for compatibility. Most stuff is working great except for wifi.

I was able to connect to my phone's hotspot but not my home network. I tried both the 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ. Every time I try entering the correct password the "authentication required" window keeps popping up and my computer won't connect.

During the boot process I received the following error message:  "Failed to start Nvidia powered service". This laptop has two GPUs and I will try to run a demo with non NVidia install. Do you think the two issues are related? 

So yes before installing popOS I want to be sure this is something that can be fixed.
