I think it depends on what and how you believe in life and death in this life. It doesn't sound like someone like you is bothered by it. But many people that grow up with deeply held life long beliefs would find it disturbing.

Isn't that literally the Egg theory? That ain't horror
I've read variations of the egg theory for years and I also enjoyed the Kurzgesagt YouTube episode ... I always liked the idea that there could only be one life or consciousness in the universe without the one being knowing it understanding it.
The horror here is not a big deal for someone who is open to the idea.
But the discussion of death and the idea that their religious beliefs could be completely wrong would be disturbing to many people.
I guess you could say so, forgot most people feel uneasy about their own Transience.
