The head of this year’s United Nations climate talks is calling for governments and businesses to tackle global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions in all regions and sectors if they want to stop the planet from passing a key temperature limit agreed on more than seven years ago.
I just really want to point out that there's some very dark humor in the UAE's unsubtle attempts to use COP28 as a PR campaign. Not that almost every other COP wasn't a complete waste of time, but the ridiculousness truly elevates this to the level of comedy.
I don't even know if they're being sarcastic or if they're just that craven.
It‘s just a deflection again, basically spreading the blame onto everyone and anyone, which makes a lot of people defensive and double down or act as useful pawns for conservatives, who want to stall any action on climate change that could hurt their pockets.
