Would love to hear about mods for the existing steam games, the workshop is a bit of a mess and it'd be great to have more to play on pc what with only 1 roll20 session/week.
Thank you for these excellent suggestions. I think I'll start by posting sci-fi battlemaps that work well for Shadowrun (I have quite a few) and crosspost with !battlemaps@sh.itjust.works.
I can definitely start writing up a review for Cutting Black as/when I have time, ran a full campaign on it.
Personally, one of the type of content that I somehow liked a lot in the subreddit (apart from all the posts about players and DM talking about their TTRPG games sessions and the chaos ensuing), was all the "One step closer" articles, not only do they help with immersion, having idea and inspiration, but I've also learned and discovered many things this way.
Ah yes sorry, I'll try to be clear. It was a flair of posts for news that are at the intersection between our close (or potentially close) future/present and the setting of shadowrun. For example, an user submitted this article, pertaining to the defunding of police by a rich individual who at the same time invested a lot of money in private security group:
https://nypost.com/2023/05/26/ebay-founder-pierre-omidyar-gives-nearly-2m-to-defund-police/
Of course this is reminescent of all the security corp in universe (Lone star, Knight Errant).
Another post was a post that discussed a news where some researcher apparently made progress towards decoding the impulses of the brain in term of exact thought:
https://www.artisana.ai/articles/gpt-ai-enables-scientists-to-passively-decode-thoughts-in-groundbreaking
The user then made the link between this kind of research and the possibility it could evolve in the shadowrun datajacks becoming a real life occurence.
Some news speak about the advance in VR, or the slow spread of exoskeleton for workers, the concept of territoriality for corporation (re)becoming a reality (with elon musk wanting to build his own town), etc.
So basically, discussing any news or event that gets us closer to the technologic/social reality of shadowrun, and drawing parralels between the two.
