My basil plant was not able to keep up with demand.
- It's ferns for me. Not a single one has survived.
  
  Ferns managed to outlive the dinosaurs and survived a fucking cataclysmic meteor

I don't like to say "I killed the plant", per se.

I like to say "I keep it in a complex perpetual interplay of life and death".

A Schroedinger's plant, you could say.
- It’s not a dead plant, it’s an art installation.
