"Compact" and "Crossover" are pretty well on opposite ends of the spectrum nowadays. The Corolla "Crossover" is gigantic, same with the eclipse cross. I hope it's just a mistake as a compact EV similar to a Bolt would be a cool option.

Subaru already has one & if I'm choosing between Subaru & Tesla, it's going to be Subaru 10 out of 10 times.
The Soltera and BZ4X are incredibly disappointing cars. As much as I hate Tesla and Elon I'd take one of their cars over that ugly thing any day. And I say that as a current birkenstock wearing, kombucha drinking Subaru owner.
Agreed. Fuck Elon and all, but seeing the top comment in an EV enthusiast community to be recommending Subaru’s EV is a little weird.
Realistically, I’m probably not going to buy any of Elon’s products after all the media censorship shit he’s pulled.
That said, I don’t know if Suby’s first EV is where I would hang by hat. And I say that as someone who loved a their Impreza so much that they drove the thing into the ground.
My guess is that they’re going after the hot competition from China. Specifically Volvo/Polestar and the $35k ex30. Which they’re calling a “compact SUV”… but it’s smaller than many sedans and station wagons. So it’s playing in that crossover space.
