Hi, I'm an European living in Asia, just arrived to SDF. In previous lifes I spent waaaay too many years working on GNU/Linux systems (mostly Debian based), some largish-scale FOSS deployments and a lot of cloud. Now after becoming tired of working with IT customers and corpos I have a bakery and use technology as a hobby.
I am quat. I'm from Sweden and I enjoy typesetting in plain TeX and everything that has to do with old books. Once in a while I do some bookbinding too. I have never gotten past the Gnomish mines in Nethack.
Hello, I'm dctrud. I've been around SDF a bit since 2019... 15+ years after I initially joined (with a long forgotten login) at university. Software Engineer by day. I enjoy messing around with dance music on vinyl, walking, and sometimes cycling for fun.
Since we moved back to Cornwall in the UK, after 11 years in Texas, it makes sense for me to be on SDFeu now. Cheers!
Happy to be here! Norwegian here, 15 years on Reddit but now fed up. As an SDF member I'm happy that there's a Lemmy instance now. The policy seems to be good so far – no defederation.
I haven't seen a stated policy, I've just observed how lemmy.sdf.org and lemmy.sdfeu.org don't defederate from anyone. Could be that they just haven't gotten around to it, but I hope not.
