My plan for the long weekend is to do a kayaking trip on all three days, I've started off well with a short paddle from Ngatitoa domain out towards the reef and back, tomorrow I aim to paddle from Makara to Owhiro Bay, and Monday a circumnavigation of Kapiti island.
Then we will hopefully get some rain, and I can do some whitewater stuff during the week.
Today we start the elaborate plan of taking kids to grandparents and adults returning in time to catch a ferry on Monday to our first ever holiday with no kids 😀
I didn't quite get the shed finished. I got the roof on, which opens up with gas springs, but after testing it a few times all the pressure bubbled out of the gas springs and now they don't work 🙁. This was actually in one of the reviews so I shouldn't be too surprised. Apparently they sent a replacement easy enough so I should be able to get a replacement too.
Failing that there is a good has strut replacement place in Auckland too.
Enjoy that no kids thing! The break without them every now and again is so essential. We only manage one or two weekends a year with four of the blighters.
