I especially hate this because it's often after like 10 hours of staring at a wall doing fuck all. As soon as I start doing literally anything, all of a sudden I'm in high demand.
What is it that causes this behavior from people around us? I think we have all experienced this before, which means that people are probably predisposed to want your attention when it's elsewhere, but not care about your attention if it's nowhere.
It's called UniversalPauseButton (no link because on phone, but you can Google it). It basically makes the PAUSE/BREAK button pause any active process. Press it again to unpause.
Will likely cause issues with online games, but if you're playing offline or in single-player, like Witcher 3, Remnant, Baldurs Gate 3, etc it works wonders.

which supports linux, and I believe takes a slightly different approach on windows so where one app might not work for one game you could try the other
It instantly turns me off any game. Much of my free time for gaming on the weekends is really when I'm doing less active chores, like laundry. If I can't pause to change loads and fold, I can't play that game.
I play a lot of souls likes and most don't have pause. But they usually save your position if you go back to the main menu; so I pause by just quitting to the main menu.
"I can't help with dinner, the dog has his head on my lap." "Well, sure, that's fine, honey. I just made a cat move off my lap because at least ONE of us has to be responsible."
Every god damn time. Whether it’s sitting down to work on something or to play a game, the wife needs something. Hell.. even my work is the same. It’s an easy job with random amounts of downtime but the moment I decide to start cleaning or just scroll lemmy on my phone suddenly everyone needs help.
Haha nothing that exciting, and maybe even a stretch to call it "software"
Mostly just some python and jinja for klipper 3d printers and some guides and stuff for the same.
I've been working on a big project to add a lot of functionality through a python extension that is traditionally done somewhat manually with macros and jinja. The idea is to make it easier for new/inexperienced users to handle functions like filament runout/changes and preprint steps like heat soaking and generating a bed mesh on any printer without needing to understand jinja or gcode.
