It's less about the animation and more about the disastrous work environment. If you see any behind the scenes on modern disney films it's clear many people don't have any idea what they're doing, and the studio tries making all the employees involved with the story which is really dumb.

Shoutout to Frozen 2, where they didn't iron out key details of the plot more than halfway through production.
