That's nothing. My laptop regularly reaches 100C doing basic gaming lol.
Not sure if the pun is intended (steam).
Is this a Linux kernel 6.66 joke?
No, the 66ยฐC was just a coincidence ๐.
Time to test out that 8 year old thermal paste!
It's actually 11 years old ๐ฌ, but I changed it a few years ago โบ๏ธ.
winter is hitting hard on some parts, I see
lol ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ, yeah, I had the window open ๐คฃ.
Just out of curiosity I just started building the Linux kernel to see what my system does, but the CPU isn't going over 10% load and is hovering around 40 degrees. I just ran make
without any parameters, is there a way to get it to use more than a single cpu core at a time?
Edit: Now we're cooking. make -j$(nproc)
99% CPU utilization at 56 degrees.
my laptop is at 56ยฐC idle, then again it is summer here
edit: the moment i went to check it is now at 47ยฐC with the browser open. maybe it was reporting the wrong temperature or it's just cooler today
sudo emerge -av firefox
Thermald and TPM
What are you compiling?
yt-dlg. It's wxPython based, so it takes A LOT of time and CPU power... or maybe my laptop is just old ๐.
me but while running libsvtav1
Also when you do x265 encodes ๐ฅฒ.
Everything below 90 is cool.
My grandpa is going to be sad...
It's a laptop ๐.
If that's the CPU temperature then it's running really efficiently, you'd expect up to 100ยฐC if you were doing something intense!
