Mechanism to report entire communities?

Hey Reddthat mods,

Is there a mechanism to report entire communities? I found one that appears to be

trigger warning

pro-pedophilia

but it's the lone mod doing the posting, so sending a report will likely be ignored.

It's a community on this instance.

Relevant post.

  • Hi @Telorand@reddthat.com

Thank you for reaching out. Reports are finicky with Lemmy, where if a Moderator takes action, it marks the report as resolved for the Admins and vice versa. We investigate reports and make sure to remove content violating our rules to the best of our abilities.  If this is not the case, depending on the content/report, we occasionally reach out to the user to clarify our decision and/or discuss the matter in detail.

At the present time this community does not violate our rules. But this scenario is one of those edge cases where it is purely a technicality, one that we have already explicitly discussed in our admin team. We have been drafting new rules to better define what is and is not allowed on Reddthat, as well as a way to make everything a lot clearer.

Currently, you have the ability to block a community if you do not wish to see the content associated with it. This goes for any community in the fediverse as well as any user accounts, with the next Lemmy version 0.19 even for other instances!

    Thank you,
    Tiff,
On behalf of the Reddthat Admin Team
