There are reports of spam coming from specific users on lemmy.blahaj.zone. I stumbled across some very unpleasant NSFL content on an unrelated post. I wouldn't reccomend it, but you could check soot@lemmy.blahaj.zone's profile for an example if it hasn't been taken down yet.
It may be worth temporarily blocking that instance until they get a handle on the situation.
Someone seems to be doing a bunch of soam attacks like this. I saw one this morning, albeit much more tame, were they just posted random words with a soyjack. I blocked the soot account, but the i can still the comments in threads.
Been getting a lot of that type of spam from Hexbear ever since they were federated to my home instance a few months ago. Not sure if it's ALL coming out of them but the vast majority that I've seen has been.
The BLAHAJ instance admin was notified and removed the user. We’ve been dealing with a lot of this sort of thing lately, which are specifically intended to entice and encourage posts like this one that suggest defederation. For individuals who are looking for any viable excuse to isolate and block the voices of trans people like me, this tactic is a potent one.
To everyone out there, I ask for sympathy, patience and helpful ideas on how to mitigate this sort of thing as our admins fend off these attacks.
Think about it this way: we’re getting bullied, taking punches to the face, and you’re watching. Do you want to cover your eyes and ears and ignore it, or do you want to help stop the people doing it to us?
Just blocked the instance, I noticed it too. Poor children. Why would anyone do such a thing. Posting it in an argument of awareness is one thing, why would anyone just spam it.
