Went back to completing Ace Attorney, was playing the first game few weeks back but then paused it, now back to it, and loving every second of it. Plan to finish at least the first game before Super Mario RPG comes out, so that I can fully switch to that.
What about all of you? What have you been playing?
Made a huge mistake while playing Mario wonder. I wanted to play all of it offline but as I got towards the end I started getting kinda bored of the game and turned on online and was having a really good time again. Probably should've played the whole game online lmao.
It shows other players playing the same level as you but they don't interact with anything in the level. They can die and be revived by you or other players or a standee that you can place.
I went back to playing Tetris 99 this week now that I'm on Nintendo Online. There's always time for a game of Tetris 99!
I tried the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks and they're pretty good. I played a few cups with with Funky Kong, and it's fun but his voice is a bit annoying and distracting... I'll probably play a few online sessions during the weekend. It'll be a mix between that, Mario Wonder and Tetris 99 on the Switch and Kid Icarus Uprising and Metrod: Samus Returns on the DS.
I can't believe it's almost time for Super Mario RPG, where will I find the time to finish all these games? 😅 I need a vacation...
Wandered away from my Switch for a bit. Been playing Honk Train. (Honkai Star Rail). It's pretty decent, though I'm starting to see the gatcha wall in the distance.
Oh dude, I love Ace Attorney! Which case are you currently on?
As for myself I'm thinking to play some more Warm Snow. Been really getting into that. Loving the style and overall feel of the game. Might play some more of the Amnesia collection as well, though might sub that for Monster Hunter lol
Oh cool enjoy! Would love to know which case ends up your favorite after you've finished! And I'm very excited to get the HD Apollo Justice collection coming out! Thought it would never happen.
I'm liking it a lot so far. Took me a bit to adjust to the controls but it feels perfectly fine now. Difficulty seems just right and the boss fights I've had so far are honestly pretty fun. Menu navigation can be a little janky though.
I think if you're into the whole rogue-lite thing you should give it a try! You're playing Nioh (one of my favorite PS titles), so I think you'll enjoy it. There's compendiums for what you pick up that update with each run you make. Weapons, relics, items, etc. There's upgrades for the protagonist, which help with future runs. There's cosmetic incentive to beat the game under certain conditions. Don't want to give away too much but, I think it's worth a try for sure.
And Rise, yeah! I got Sunbreak super late so all the updated content is just there at once so I'm slowly trying to make my way through it. Trying to get a set together before going to fight Velkhana and Amatsu. I remember Velkhana giving me a very hard time in Iceborne, hoping for a better hunt this time around.
It's okay so far. I'm still in the early game but it feels really smooth I've not really had any technical issues. The music is beautiful and the art is nice. I am finding some of the chunkier enemies are difficult for me to kill but that's probably just a skill issue. Overall I'm looking forward to seeing more of the game
Still have Witch on the Holy Night on hold due to personal reasons - too tired and lacking the focus to play dense, story-focused games, plus I got new glasses this week and I'm still adapting to them, so reading on the TV for a long time was not very confortable.
But I did start Super Mario Bros. Wonder and this game is amazing, I'm not usually a huge fan of the 2D Mario games, but this game got me hooked immediately. Started playing on saturday and I'm almost finished with World 4, so I guess I'm halfway through?
The "Wonder Seed" mechanic is a great twist. I love how some of the changes feel like fever dreams, others alter how the game plays, others just put you into a immediate danger situation. I also like how not only the "theme" of each world changes, but they also play with the structure of the world itself - like one world not having a castle+boss or another having a lot of hidden stages making you spend more time exploring the overworld.
I have realized that the SP Combos in the journey towards Baten Kaitos completion are something I have never even attempted in the original version because I have no memory of the nonsense I have to do here. It's like I'm playing a different game all of a sudden. Here's my personal highlight so far:
One combo requires the card "Good Fortune" with two other items. The fortune cards rotate through various forms, the Good variant stays that way for a whopping seven seconds. And I learned the hard way that cards can indeed change in combat. So I make sure I have all the cards I need in my hand and cycle through everyone's turns, hoping the right character's turn comes up during the seven-second window the fortune lines up.
"But surely the reward for such a combo is amazing!", I hear you say. The combo results in the card "Pretty Flowers", which is pretty worthless. And even if it wasn't, you can just put four flowers together to get the same result. And after ten hours, the flowers rot away anyway.
I don't alyways complete games. I'll usually try, but stop when things get too stupid. But there's stupid-stupid and there's funny-stupid. And it simply fascinates me how nonsensical this game is beneath the surface, in that dark place a normal playthrough would never touch. I'm now ~50% through the SP Combos, but the pace varies on the cards needed. Every now and then, I have to grind one from an enemy and this game has a stronger desire sensor than even Monster Hunter, I swear.
But aside from the wall of text, I did complete Mario Bros. Wonder. What a delightful final boss and a challenging special world to round it off. I said I wasn't going to start another B-game, but then I remembered I paused We Love Katamari Reroll for the sake of playing Mario, so I got back to that. I'm sorry for forgetting you, King of All Cosmos. I do love Katamari, I swear!
lol, if this wasn't a public Nintendo community, I probably would've thought you are just making these up. 😀 I can't imagine the people who completed it when it was released.
"Not going to start another B-game", man don't know how many times I have promised myself that. Funny thing is, before I started this community here, I was pretty good with it, but I think talking about different games daily makes it difficult to stick to just one game for months at end.
The difficulty is exclusively in the puzzles, and it's got a wiiiiiiide range. Minimal completion is maybe like a 5/10 difficulty, pretty manageable, full completion gets up to at least 8/10. Very rewarding, though, if you're into brain-heavy puzzles.
