What is your go too terminal application?

I'm personally a big fan of guake. I like that I can set up custom shortcuts to open the terminal and keep it running in the background. I also like that it can be transparent. It makes it easier when I am trying to learn terminal commands.

What is your go to terminal application or do you just use the default one that came with Mint?

  • Alacritty or Kitty. Neither use much resources and use my GPU (via OpenGL) so they're always smooth whether I'm on a older laptop or a new desktop.

  • I personally love Alacrity. Fast, written in Rust and pretty stable in my experience. Was able to install zsh and oh-my-zsh, then daily-use Vim no problem!

  • @NumbersCanBeFun my personal favourite is Terminator, though Terminology runs a close second
