Sadly at work force pushing just isn't an option, so I've just learned to ignore my deadname. There's apparently some way to use
.mailmapto swap out the way your name/email displays, but github doesn't respect it in any case. :|I do mostly update old JIRA/Confluence references as I run into them. I also make a habit of referring to others by their @handle references, since that will update automatically if they ever change their name.
i think github has the ability to map an email to an account, so it would show as your account name instead of the name and email in the commit message as long as you have registered the old email to your github account. at least for me it only shows my github username and nothing else

Well I mean cock.li originated from 4 chan, had some huge controversies with bomb threads but thats not on the admin.
While 4 chan now is an alt right shithole, it used to be actually really trans positive. So no ironic here.

From what I can tell (but I might be wrong) the reddit userbase is the legacy of imageboards.

git push --forceisn't supposed to be used then why is it there? It's literally made for trans people to break git history /sIf you consider you did write the code as your old name, letting the git tree version your gender is actually epic 🤝
Still force push an empty commit that says you changed your gender at the moment you started changing your user config just so it fucks up the history

I absolutely see your point, but It just absolutely downs me seeing my old name, which tends to happen on smaller projects, so whenever I can, I will actually filter branch :,)
