Bought a 2nd hand laptop for gaming and now I'm trying to figure out how I'll set it up on my desk. Do I get a laptop mount? Run it in clamshell mode? I have way too much clutter on my desk 🫠
Either buy a monitor arm so your monitor is off the desk or buy a two-arm monitor mount that keeps your laptop suspended in the air. It's a bit wobbly but as long as you don't type a lot with it on the tray, you should be okay.
I already have a monitor arm. My problem is I'm going to be running two laptops (mac and windows) so I'm just considering the logistics of where I'll be putting them both.
Guess I'll be decluttering over the weekend. Fun times.
Lupet talaga ng QCinema Festival. We're the first country to screen Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things since its debut in VIFF last month. Others won't be getting it until December or early 2024.
Pati si Brillante Mendoza marami rin ginawa niyan na movies, haha. Alpha: The Right to Kill and the Amo Netflix series. Granted, I was never a fan of him even before he showed his true colors during the Duterte admin.
I had to check my 1-star reviews on Letterboxd and a lot of the movies are not bad enough to warrant this treatment from me, but I Am Number Four probably comes close.
Accidentally watched this on YouTube back in a day when I was interested on experimental stuffs. A few years later, James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd) reviewed this shit.
Tested out Alexandrite after a long time mulling about it (and being busy otherwise), and I'm amazed at how pretty and snappy it is. I should have done this earlier.
More than it being pretty and snappy, I also love the functionality it packs. I can switch between my alts in one place and not have to have to go to separate sites for it. It takes some setting up on my password manager (specifically, the part where you need to log-in onto a particular instance), but my password manager's custom fields took care of that.
Once I've set things all up, my workflow here in Lemmy now resembles that of the other place, with me being able to switch between alts (for different niches/interests) and browse accordingly. Now, I just have to get used to the UX and I'm all set! The UX is nice, no complaints about that. It still kinda alien to me, however, especially how clicking on a post opens it in a panel of sorts. It is a good feature though.
Ah, yeah! It's nice that they're there on the left side. In the default interface, or at least the default that I used, has them crowded on the right side. It's a bit hard to click on any one of them (plus there's sometimes two of them in a line).
