Solar electric vehicle company Aptera has been working hard to bring its Aptera three-wheeled electric car to market since it was reborn in 2019 - and in the time since, we've been lucky enough to get some seat time in both Aptera's Alpha and Beta prototypes - as passengers, not drivers.

But when Aptera asked us if we'd like to come down to San Diego and drive its latest prototype - Gamma - for ourselves, we couldn't say no. But while our ultimate impressions of Aptera Gamma were excellent, our day didn't start quite as we'd hoped...
