Could be a hypocrite. Could be he learned a lesson and now campaigns against the violence he once perpetrated. Art is fun to interpret.
- Could even be propaganda from the prison industrial complex to imply that punishment, not rehabilitation, works.
  
  tit-for-tat is also a rehabilitation technique. Not everyone has the capacity to imagine consequences of actions.
Who's that US republican congressman that got big mad at trump for using some derogatory mental disability term? And he had the gall to say he's been a supporter of disability aid ever since his daughter was diagnosed? "I fought against it until I was personally affected because I have the empathetic capacity of a shoe" is his platform, I beleive
- I mean, at least its personal growth but I feel it's a problem for the majority of these fuckheads. No empathy whatsoever because they have never known struggle a day in their lives.

It's like back in the 70s 80s to teach a child not to hit or bite you bite him(usually him) back to teach them that it hurts. Then they knock it off and learn empathy all at once.
Only this is a full grown man.
