The big turn off on eternity is that videos doesn't play automatically (not sure its hidden inside the 100s of options to tweak the UI). Boost supports viewing videos directly.
jerboa felt a bit rough around the edges in my opinion. it also decided one day that it had no interest in working on my phone anymore, so i was forced to switch. can't say i would recommend it
I used Liftoff for quite a while. It just stopped working one day about 3-ish weeks ago. Couldn't ever get it to work again.
I might be an outlier, but if others had the same experience it may explain it.
Jerboah actually. Its the most complete, stable and looks very good. Used Thunder but it lacks features and is kinda buggy. I was hyped about Infinity, but I only really needed Infinity to have private subscriptions and multi accounts, which I dont have on Lemmy.
Using Connect, it was the second app I tried during the time there were a lot of connection issues with Jerboa (the errors weren't their fault, but they weren't handled as gracefully as I would've liked at the time). No complaints really, so I've stuck with it.
Jeroba because it's dev made and it was like the only one when I got on Lemmy. And it's actually good. Recently started using Eternity as well because I was using Infinity as my main client for reddit.
I just started using it an hour ago and I already paid the $3.50 for ad free (one time purchase, by the way) and I'm uninstalling all other apps I was trying. Liftoff, Jerboa, Thunder, Connect.... All dead to me. 😆
Sync is so good, but I did really enjoy jerboa when I first joined lemmy. Liftoff was also really good, but in the end sync is so customizable I was able to make it feel almost exactly like my relay for reddit setup, with swipe and tons of content on my screen
I use Connect and I've liked it. being able to block communities I don't want in my feed is easy and I get the impression that other apps don't have this feature. I can also block posts by keywords which is also nice not having to see post after post about Elon or furries
Considering this is the FOSS sub maybe the people suggesting Boost and Sync might want to suggest something else.. It's like people suggesting dairy cheddar for someone asking for a good lactose free cheese 🥲
But yeah, Jerboa is a popular client and one of the OGs as far as I know.
I personally enjoy Jerboa which is AGPL-3 and has a very sleek interface while being cross platform. Also felt a lot more complete than Jerboa did back when I tried it in July but im sure both are more similar nowadays
You have to use three applications at once due to the fact that in one application the search is better organized, but not very convenient design. The second app has faster ribbon scrolling and a user-friendly design, but it doesn't work well clearing the cache.
Most often I use the Jerboa app.
The Jerboa application, despite the shortcomings, is the simplest and most understandable.
I think its fixed because I haven't encountered it in a long time. I recommend pulling Thunder right from GitHub using Obtainium instead of using fdroid. More frequent updates.
I really like Liftoff. It looks the nicest imo and is very smooth and simple to use. I also plan to give Eternity a shot since I used Infinity in the past.
I only searched for apps in F-droid and my favourite is Voyager. Just love the full black interface with blue highlights and the swipe actions. I tried liftoff and thunder, but came back to voyager.
I used Jerboa, but found it clunky. Voyager provides a much nicer experience. I come from having used redreader, so I guess voyager provided a similar experience.
OP is asking for trouble with this question, everyone's just gonna say what they use/their favorite, in a very opinionated way. Best advice is to try and see what you like, but I do prefer liftoff from my limited experience with lemmy apps. It just works and it's pretty.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !combustible@lemmy.world
