This mostly flat trail spends the majority of its time in the lush Hoh Rainforest, with it's first real meeting of the Hoh River at the 5-mile island campsite. Backpackers often utilize it on the way to Blue Glacier/Mount Olympus or it can be enjoyed as a shorter nature walk through the rainforest.
A break in the overgrowth reveals a view to the distant shore covered in evergreens. Close by is a patch of undergrowth and fallen trees.
A large tree that has snapped in half witht the broken half laying across the lower frame. Surrounding it are mostly evergreen trees and green ferns. One deciduous tree in the center has started its fall transformation, adding contrast to the photo.
