If it wasn't Chromium, Vivaldi would def be my daily driver. They have a lot of the same ideas as me of what a browser should be. They've basically recreated OG Opera in the present day. All that's missing is an independent engine. RIP Presto. I realize them being able to develop all these cool features is a result of them handing off the engine work to Google. I wish they could do both

Yes, but Chromium is FLOSS and every company is free to gut the Google sniffings, what Vivaldi is doing, because of this Vivaldi's Chromium base is always behind the current version from Chrome, except security patches. Mozilla depends way more on Google than Vivaldi. There are no third party investors in Vivaldi which can influence decisions of the cooperative.

On the contrary, I'm interested in browser features that 'fight' AI.
As an example, I've toyed with locally-run scripts that flag obvious SEO slop in searches so I can blacklist the URLs. Qwen3-VL is probably good enough to do it with images now, and some other open models could do it with video.
Another thing I'd like is auto clicking through crap. Like, if I have to interact with an ad or some stupid chatbot much, click it away for me, please.
...But it should be opt-in, always.
I’ve found ublock origin to be pretty good for the ad or stupid chatbots.
The other thing, flagging seo junk and ai slop I’m very interested in but know of nothing for that. :(
Using search engines which don't include SEO crap, nor logs your activity.
