Why Do Some Towns Feel Abandoned?

I’ve been noticing something strange in my recent playthroughs: whole towns that should be bustling with life sometimes feel like ghost towns. Only one NPC spawns, or the streets are eerily quiet.

It got me thinking:

  • Is this just the engine suppressing spawns to save resources?
  • Or is it a hidden morality trigger, like the world reflecting Arthur’s choices?
  • Could it even be a bleed‑through from RDR1’s ghost town vibes?

I call it the Ghost Town Protocol — when the simulation decides to hollow out a space that should be alive.

Have you ever had this happen? Which towns felt the emptiest for you, and did it change the way you played?
