The media thinks she invented the merkin now?
- Thank you for making me read the article about pubic wigs. .
  But now I can ask you: why do you think that? Nowhere in the article does it say or imply that she invented it. They said it's a publicity stunt.
  
  Probably because they invent a new term that they use in the headline, "pubic wigs", even though KK is quoted in the article directly referring to it as a merkin.
  This isn't an article so much as its an ad, and merkin isn't a sexy term.

Back in the day, a writer named Alfred Bester created a radio character who only spoke gibberish. One day he went to the producer and aske why they'd had the character say 'woo-woo-woo' when he'd written 'blagga-blagga?'
The producers told him that they knew he was a sleazy New York Jew boy and he'd try to sneak in some dirty words into their scripts.
In the next script he introduced a character named Mr. Merkin.
