Does it sound like my ex really wants to be friends?

you can't say for sure, obviously, but what does it sound like? i'm very autistic and cannot tell.

i dated this lady and she broke up with me after finding out she was aromantic-asexual or on the spectrum of that. furthermore, she gives mixed signals, where she will sometimes give me stuff or be nice to me, but other times she will completely ignore me and stuff, or move away from me to sit by her friends.

she then said she didn't really "know me" and since we weren't best friends who connected right away, that it wasn't going to work.

my mom said being best friends right away was too soon, though, which i agree with, and that she was probably trying to be polite but not actually friends.
