I have a pair of exotic gauntlets which rolled with the below stat distribution which I want to try and replicate by focusing at Rahool for a different type of exotic gauntlets (so I can swap them easily when changing subclass):
7
8
23
21
10
2
I then apply a +10 Resilience mod and Masterwork to this one to make up for that low Res stat to work with the rest of the armor buildout.
Would I be better to wear a ghost mod with Recovery, Discipline or Resilience target when focusing to try and match these stats within a reasonable level?
The system works that armor pieces usually have three spikes, but they are never in the same group (top three, lower three).
So to focus a similar distribution like you picked up, you would use a high recovery ghost mod to guarantee a spike in the top group and ideally force the remaining two spikes to the lower group of three.
Agree with the other comment about stat buckets/groups but one more factor worth mentioning is that some exotics have "intrinsic stat focusing". With that in mind, certain stat combinations with exotics may not be possible
Thanks appreciate it. The exotic has a +10 Dis intrinsic, rolled with recovery focus and got a mediocre 64 roll like 7/7/20/10/10/10 so it's in the ballpark. I'll try again later - cipher cost per roll is a bummer, wish it guaranteed a 68 min. in return.
