Donald Trump endorses Matt Van Epps in 7th District special congressional race, Reeves out

President Donald Trump has endorsed Matt Van Epps for Congress, with four days to go before the special 7th Congressional District primary.

"Matt Van Epps has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Congressman from Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump wrote in his endorsement on Truth Social on Oct. 3.

Shortly after Trump's endorsement, Van Epps' rival in the primary, state Rep. Lee Reeves, followed Trump's lead and endorsed Van Epps, suspending his campaign.
