If it makes you feel better, everything is collapsing, not just democracy
- Corporations are reporting record profits.
  
  I would say corporations are the vultures of society, but at least vultures don't actively poison their own ecosystems.

And my coworker wonders why I have no passion for my job.
- I don't lose passion for my job because of political turmoil and the line between reality and cognitive dissonance blurring worse and worse every day.
  I lose passion for working because it broadly costs several hundred dollars a day to survive and wages don't budge and the answer from corporate is to institute a employee reward token program where you can trickle each other tiny reward points that can be redeemed for things like 50% off Doordash once a year or an extra round of drinks when you stay at a resort casino.
And both posts have identical headlines.
