Hello, so I've been watching and enjoying this community. I remember watching various different seasons/generations as a child and I liked them. I'm sure there is a lot I missed and figured I need a new hyperfixation. As an adult I've only watched the original series when it was on Netflix. I remember a lot of Picard, and some with the woman captain. (Probably more, but I've done too many drugs between them and now)
So, as someone with a basic/broad understanding of Star Trek, where should I start my dive into this show?
I would start with TNG and, despite how rough it is, watch the first season. There's some gold in there. And some god-awful shit I won't deny it. It has a huge jumping quality in season 2 though. After that I would go with DS9 and that's pretty damn good from the beginning but then gets infinitely better as time goes on
TNG is great but it does drag in the first season. If you don't mind that, just watch it start to finish. But that's boring to me. The best narrative arcs, to me, involve the Borg, the annoying quandary known as Q, and Data. So, start with the double episode premiere of TNG, and then refer to this bigass wiki for more.
Everyone over here saying TNG, but I'm gonna be real if you can make it through the real way to go is start with TOS. Watch it all in release order if you can, so you can experience the crushing depths of despair that is half of the movies lol.
