Dont upgrade until you need to. When it's time to upgrade, then max out the specs within reason as your budget allows so that you don't have to upgrade for a while. If possible, try to plan upgrades so you can find the best deals.
But just think, if you spend enough you can run every Souls game at once to be the only person that has truly compared them
