The Freedom to Vote Act, originally called the For the People Act,[1] introduced as H.R. 1, is a bill in the United States Congress intended to expand voting rights, change campaign finance laws to reduce the influence of money in politics, ban partisan gerrymandering, and create new ethics rules for federal officeholders.

After the House passed the bill, it was blocked from receiving a vote by the then Republican-controlled Senate, under Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The fact that this bill isn’t law is a big reason why the U.S.’s stature in the world — and the prospects of its citizens — has fallen so far so fast. The fact that the GOP blocked it at every stage tells you they knew their plans and would not have been been able to win a fair election if they had to face one.
This is what I've been trying to say forever. Its why I think pinning the entire blame on the voters is royally unfair.
