What are your thoughts about the new season so far?

So far I really like the addition of the P90, although it seems slightly overpowered.
I'm not necessarily a fan of the new suspended structures on Monaco though. Only had one chance so far to play that version, but it seemed like a flying fortress above the cashout.

  • P90 is a beast but I don't think it needs a nerf. It's super forgiving and a can melt at close range but as a heavy, I still 1v1 against a p90 with a lewis even. It's certainly annoying when there are 3 p90s running heal though.

Bfr hits like a truck and people say it's satisfying but I think it's a little underwhelming. It feels too close to the medium revolver. Higher base damage but the headshots feel meh. I still enjoy it but not as fun as the med revolver.

Haven't played on new Monoco structures. Been getting a lot of Kyoto but it the changes to it are really nice. Flows quite well now and removing cashouts from the forest is a big plus.

Overall, this season felt like a lot of QoL updates. Wasn't a fan of the added delay on gadgets but that's been reverted luckily. It feels like they are preparing for Arc Raiders release.

  • This season is very anti-Light so far. And as a Light main, I've really been having a rough time with it. Playing as a Light is always a bit of an uphill battle, but it feels even moreso now that I'm constantly going up against P90s in every single match. While the BFR is annoying to deal with as a Light, it's not the worst feeling in the world because it at least requires skill to use effectively, so when I die to it I at least know that I died to somebody who knows how to aim. But the P90 is so forgiving that it rewards braindead W+M1 plays, which I feel are the sort of plays that should be reserved for Heavies.

Even though the P90 doesn't do a whole lot of damage per shot, the incredibly low recoil and deep magazine make it so that the flinch you take from incoming fire makes it incredibly difficult to aim back at, even at ranges where Light weapons are technically superior. Combined with all the movement and utility that Mediums already have at their disposal, it feels too strong.

Also, I've fired a real P90 before. While they're pretty accurate given their bullpup design, they're not that accurate at full auto. It needs more recoil, not just for the sake of being more true-to-life, but also because there are already enough anti-Light laserbeam weapons in the game and we don't need another one with an entire 50 rounds in the mag.

It's disappointing that Mediums and Heavies both got new guns that destroy Lights while Lights got nothing, but it's adding insult to injury when one of our gadgets also gets taken away (arguably two gadgets, since Lights don't have much reason to run smoke without thermal vision). I get that Lights have been kinda strong for a while, but this doesn't seem like the right approach.

I'm very salty, and eagerly awaiting the balancing update. :)

  • I’m enjoying it so far. P90 is great but drops off at distance quickly. Will need to play more to see. Also need to get used to the new structures, but I like that they mixing it up.

Love that they managed to add replays. I think it will be great for new players to understand what is going on
