Got my arse out of the house a bit more often this week due to obligations of walking my sister's dog that im looking after whilst shes on holiday. I hate that walking really does actually do wonders for when you are feeling down but i still cant usually will myself to go... That said i could have done without it this morning, i got drenched in the rain. Although i did find a bullace tree with fruit so im going to get a big bottle of gin and infuse it with them.
Walks and dogs can do wonders for our spirits - and failing that, there's always gin! ;) I'm intrigued, what's bullace? Google says it's in the plum family and "closely related to the damson and sloe" but that doesn't mean much to me considering I've never heard of damson or sloe. Are they similar to regular plums that you'd find in a grocery store? What do they taste like?
If you drink alcohol, try a sloe gin at some point, it's delicious. The plummy flavour works so well with the bitterness of the gin and the tonic water, also it's a really pretty shade of purple.
I tried one earlier, not very nice fresh. They have a kind of plummy flavour but not very sweet and really astringent, you leave them in the gin for ages to mature and let their flavour out. It tasted very similar to a sloe, damsons are a bit more like a normal plum, bigger and sweeter, they can be used for jam.
I'm back to work this week after a while wfh. I'm so excited to see everyone! Bit nervous obviously but still excited. Hope it goes well.
I've got my new housemate coming sunday, so I'll be spending friday and sunday getting her room ready for her. I'm so happy with how it's coming together!
Good luck for the new housemate!
Good luck at work :) I bet your new roommate will be happy with all the work you've put in!
Hope so!
My 'good thing' has been me getting some energy back after being knocked out with a fatigue episode for over a week.
Slowly getting back on top of chores and stuff again isn't very exciting, but it's nice to be showered and have clean bedding and no dishes in the sink again, even if it's taken 3 days of eking away at stuff to get to this point.
I appreciate these threads btw, I like reading what's been going well for people.
Getting going again after fatigue is really hard. Our routine is whacked, we're behind on everything and it's hard to start. You've done well getting through all that well done
Oh hey, you deal with this too? Incoming weak af high five for team Life Is Exhausting. Solidarity yo.
