Fallout did an amazing job. It was something new that new folks and old fans could both enjoy.
I'll go against the grain and say I dislike TLoU series because not that it was done well, but because it just copies the games. Just like movies based on books, this puts an entire group of people off of playing the game. Why play it and experience one of the best games ever made when you could just watch it?
Fallout did a great job because it people liked the universe then you could also go play the games! Inviting more people to gaming. In Mass Effect there are so many untold stories, why couldn't they do one of those instead?
