People argue over which Mel Brooks film is the best, but for me it’s this one. Gene Wilder is completely unhinged from start to finish, and Igor steals every single scene.<br/>

Shooting it in black and white was a masterstroke—it doesn’t just mimic the old Universal monster movies, it feels like one. The mood, the shadows, the lightning… perfect.<br/>

And for once, the box art blurb wasn’t lying. This really might be the funniest comedy ever made.<br/>
