Oh snap, how harmful is the impact?
They can get “entrapped” in the light and circle a lit building endlessly. It also leads to disorientation and building collisions. And it fucks up their navigation.

This organization does great work to educate people and governments about the harmful effects of lighting at night.
"I bet he's thinking about boobies"
“Baby, those tits are lit”
Tweet Dreams sounds like it'd be the title for one of the onion's political comics
This is me. Also, don't want to mess up the raccoons' endocrine systems.
Would this really have any meaningful impact when streetlights etc. exist? This feels like plastic straws all over again.
It definitely would in rural areas. And aside from birds, it’s helpful for the insect population in any backyard to have the lights off.
Plastic straws were a drop in the bucket, but rather than going back to them, we should be taking more steps forward (ex plastic cutlery, disposable cups, etc). I’d rather see baby steps forward than throw in the towel because the problem is so big
I keep it off just because I like to be a ninja in the morning
but they're already in bed
Should be "Did I turn the porch light off? It'll interfere with seasonal bird migration."
Maybe it's the morning, they just woke up and this is the first thought he has
i had considered that also. it is bright!
It's Sunday
