This is something that the whole community has been fighting against. But it’s also a space where everyone has the freedom to post what they think and don’t feel, so we need to be careful. The main message that needs to get across is that this group is very consenting, very low key supportive, etc. Even though its not a community club/weird housing, we are accepting guests because we have a home rule that says they must support our existence regardless whether they come from outside or within our community.

I've also been going to my local homeless shelter once for a month. We have a few trans people on our shelter team. They are supportive in general and also very welcoming and kind, but as I mentioned before they were just a shelter that is for all trans people in a city. But they still need to have a dedicated group of trans women and men, and they don't have one at the moment. So if we wanted to start a shelter for trans men, we would probably have to make it a few trans women's shelters before we could begin to address the issue of transgender women. I am not saying we don't have a trans women shelter in some of the smaller cities or some other cities that have trans inclusive policies, but we do need to make sure that the shelters are trans inclusive enough to help trans men and trans women not only survive, but thrive.
